Publisher Comments:

This second Planetary collection focuses on the team's mysterious benefactor, the "Fourth Man." After paying their final respects to a British occultist with ties to their group, Elijah Snow, Jakita Wagner, and The Drummer continue their super-human archeological studies as they visit a hidden government compound full of radioactive human guinea pigs, discover a fictional construct that has been made real and learn of a malevolent group known simply as "The Four." As these investigations take place, Elijah begins to learn some truths about both the Fourth Man's identity as well as his own hidden past. Featuring an introduction by Buffy The Vampire Slayer creator, Joss Whedon!

Synopsis:

This second collection of Earth-shattering adventures from WildStorm stars a team of super-powered "mystery archaeologists" who have uncovered evidence of super-human activity that spans the centuries. The team includes the ancient and enigmatic Elijah Snow, hot-tempered Jakita Wagner, and the insane techno-expert Drummer. The team has always referred to their mysterious benefactor as the "Fourth Man." During the course of Planetary's investigations Elijah Snow pieces together clues to the Fourth Man's identity, learning some terrible truths about his own past along the way.

Oh man, this is getting really good! I love Elijah Snow, and the part where John Constantine (in a slightly different guise) shows up is kind of brilliant. John Cassaday's art is really well done, too -- he tells the story without distracting the reader with silly stylized stuff.
