Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Cyclists of any age, experience, skill, and talent level can reach their full potential as both athlete and individual by training their bodies and minds for athletic competition. Ultrafit coach Thomas Chapple shows how with this practical guide.

Based on the idea that success depends on the extent to which cyclists build their foundation of aerobic fitness, or their "base," for the road ahead, the book explains step-by-step how to build a bigger aerobic engine, work up to higher volumes, and make significant improvements in strength, endurance, and speed.

I believe this is an excellent book for todays People!!!! I believe their are way more people riding bicycles today as our "Green" era, and economy is so slow!! We need this kind of book for those of us who are beginning to attempt riding bikes, as I know I know nothing about the modern and todays cycles and accessories. I believe I would read this guide and use it regularly!

An excellent book for cyclists beginning to train and a reference for experienced riders, too. Clearly and concisely written the information covered is broad and deep from how the body processes nutrients to training drills to fitness testing and training plans. Chapple includes graphs to illustrate explanations, side bars to explicate various topics, and charts to track training. Very informative. Highly recommended.
