Visualization technology is becoming increasingly important for medical and biomedical data processing and analysis. Experts from all over the world had been invited to participate in a workshop held in July 2006 on the island Rugen in Germany. About 40 participants presented state-of-the-art research on the topic. Research and survey papers have been solicited and carefully refereed, resulting in this collection.
