Publisher Comments:
The demons planned to lift themselves out of time until they were ready to wage war on the humans once more. But the spell went wrong, and they were catapulted into Limbo. Now the spell's deterioration is accelerating and the demon materializations are erupting. Even the fairy scientists cannot predict the next one.
But someone can. Artemis Fowl, teenage criminal mastermind, has solved temporal equations that no human can. So when a confused and frightened demon pops up in a Sicilian theatre, Artemis is there to meet him. Unfortunately, a second mysterious party has also solved the equations and has managed to abduct the demon.
Once again, Artemis will pair up with his old comrade Captain Holly Short, to track down the missing demon, before the spell dissolves completely and the lost demon colony returns violently to Earth.

In Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony by Eoin Colfer, fourteen-year-old genius Artemis Fowl and his bodyguard, Butler, observe the places where demons appear on Earth. Then, twelve-year-old genius Minerva Paradizo was able to capture a demon named Number One. Meanwhile, Section Eight told an elf named Holly Short and a dwarf named Mulch Diggums what Minerva did. Then, Holly and Mulch work with Artemis to rescue the demon. After that, Artemis discovers that they need to save the island of demons. This book takes you all over the world to places such as Barcelona and Taiwan. Artemis and Holly also travel through time. Colfer successfully shows that a small group of people can do a lot in this serious and dark book. Colfer also teaches you that you should never cheat towards your goal and that you should be nice to everyone. I liked every part of this book except for the last two pages because of the great cliffhanger. My favorite part was when Artemis said, “ I’ll be wearing a burgundy tie. Pay attention to that. There are a hundred and one ways this could go wrong. If it does, the police could tie one of us up for a long time.” This is my favorite part because Artemis uses his brains to influence Kong to meet him in Taipei 101 in Taiwan. Another great moment was when Number One said, “I think I’m going to the volcano.” This is because if Number One didn’t go, everything would have been a lot more complicated. This book is so interesting that future generations would read it. Every reader should read this.

This is THE BEST ARTEMIS FOWL BOOK colfer has written. It has many plot twists, humorous characters, a happy-sad ending, and an amazing plot. I wonder if colfer will write another Artemis Fowl book...
