Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

“Thebest debut novel Ive ever read.”—Tess Gerritsen, bestselling author of the Rizzoli & Isles series

“Anexceptional thriller. It left my nerves jangling for hours after I finished thelast page.” —Dennis Lehane, New York Times bestselling author of Moonlight Mile

S. J. Watson makes his powerful debutwith this  compelling, fast-paced  psychological thriller, reminiscent of Shutter Island and Memento, in which an amnesiac who, following a mysterious accident, cannot remember her past or form newmemories, desperately tries to uncover the truth about who she is—and whoshe can trust.

Synopsis:

Memories define us.

So what if you lost yours every time you went to sleep?

Your name, your identity, your past, even the people you love—all forgotten overnight. And the one person you trust may be telling you only half the story.

Welcome to Christines life.

To say this is a good suspence novel is true, but doesn't begin to convey the power of this book. The main character wakes up everyday not knowing where she is, who the people around her are and what she has been doing for the last several years. As the story progresses not only do you become concerned for Christine's welfare, but you really question what is the substance of anyones identity without their memory. Both compelling and thought-provoking, Before I Go to Sleep should definitely be added to your must read list.
