Publisher Comments:

Offering unsurpassed geographical coverage, Oxford's Atlas of the World, Deluxe Edition is the new leader in top-shelf world atlases. No other atlas offers such a comprehensive range of maps--each of which is informed by the best cartography available--in such a striking, glamorous package.

The Deluxe Atlas offers complete coverage of all regions of the world, with detailed city and world maps, the latest world statistics and a 56-page Introduction to World Geography that explains with clarity such issues as global warming, biodiversity, energy, population, health, standards of living, and much more. Additionally, vivid new satellite images of Oslo, Mexico City, Beijing, Rome, Las Vegas (clearly showing that city's bright lights), and other cities around the world illustrate how different and stunning the world's cities are when seen from afar.

With a slipcase to ensure that it maintains its pristine condition over time, and other luxury features such as gold embossing, the Atlas of the World, Deluxe Edition provides an extraordinary collection of maps, fascinating geographical information, and a gorgeous package--all at a remarkable value.

This is a library quality book. The immense volumne of information in conjunction with the Maps is a real treat. It is not only informative maps, it is BEAUTIFUL photographs and a good study on what is happening with our earth. The immense size and weight of this forever book (this is a tome to pass down to the children) warrants a table of it's own. Love it.
