This book was written as a catalog to the exhibition of Egerton's collection in 1880, at the South Kensington Museum (now the Victoria & Albert) in London and published by WH. Allen. (Today, the collection is divided between the V&A and the Tower of London). The catalog, which is illustrated with color and b&w drawings and photos, includes a lengthy history of the British conquests in India as well as details about the use of the arms. (Note that the cover and spine of this Dover edition bear the title )
