Publisher Comments:

Max has the dinosaur gene. He got it from his mother, a world-renowned paleontologist whos been called to a dig in Mongolia at the last minute. That means Max and his two older siblings, Kyle and Emma, have to stay with their reclusive grandfather—Mad Jack Pierson—on his ranch near Austin, Texas. It doesnt take long before they discover that their grandpa believes he has a time machine in his basement. At first, they disregard Mad Jack Peirson, and his story of a Chronal Engine, but when he predicts his own heart attack, and the exact moment that Emma will be kidnapped, Max and Kyle are forced to believe. Now, to save Emma, Max, Kyle, and their new friend Petra, have to travel to the Cretaceious in a VW Bug packed with camping gear. In a time when even the insects were life-threatening, and herbivores could crush small cars, the trio of contemporary teens have to use their wits to hunt down a kidnapper, forage for food, and hardest of all...survive.

Synopsis:

This uniquely illustrated, middle grade time-travel adventure has siblings Max, Kyle, and Emma travelling back in time to the Cretaceous era. A mix of Manga and American comics by artist Blake Henry give this action-packed tale a distinctive look.
