About the Author

Alton Brownis the writer, director, and host of the popular Food Network television show Good Eats, and is the resident food historian, scientist, color commentator, and host of the network’s Iron Chef America series. In 2004, Brown was selected the Bon Appétit American Food & Entertaining Awards Cooking Teacher of the Year. He is a regular contributor to Bon Appétit and Men’s Journal magazines. He lives in the southern United States with his wife and daughter.

This book makes me want to apply for a refund on my culinary degree. Seriously, Alton Brown has such amazing things to teach and this book was my first purchase. My new skills are getting rave reviews at home. I suggest you give it a read and of course... you need to watch Good Eats.

That zany Food Network Host has done it again. Not only do his books provide enough science to make anyone confident enough to venture their own recipes, but version 2.0 is new and improved including meat charts and other diagrams that are so familiar from his hit show. This tome of knowledge is a recommended gift for anyone in your life who loves to cook or would love to learn.
