If you're the type to take things too seriously, don't bother with this graphic novel series, Yakitate!! Japan. Instead of killing each other, our characters are competing with rolls, loaves, and pastries. With famous lines like "I was distracted by his bread!!" you will be giggling your way through this fun. A manga about bread sounds boring to say the least, but I was blow away by how much Yakitate kept me in suspense, on par with other shonen mangas like Naruto or Bleach. A lot of research has gone into it which is a plus.
