andldquo;Rat, I am ready to ROCK!andquot;

andquot;Huh?andquot;

andquot;You said I could sing in the band.andquot;

andquot;When?andquot;

andquot;In the last book.andquot;

andquot;Oh. Right.andquot;

Rat has finally agreed to let his friend Roach sing in his band... but not if Roach makes everyone wear shiny, sparkly outfits. No way! Roach can still sing, though, right?

Wrong. He can't even get out a squeak!

Just when Rat is at his tailandrsquo;s end, he realizes that one thing might bring the sparkle and shine back to Roach's voice. Rat may look a little funny in his glitzy new outfit, but sometimes friendship is totally worth it.

With just the right touch of silly and sweet, Rat and Roach Rock On! gets at the heart of friendship and makes us laugh along the way.

Review:

"A rowdy, ravenous New York City garbage truck is the unlikely and thoroughly engaging narrator of this comical collaboration by the creators of Hey Pipsqueak! and Nutcracker Noel.... Jim McMullan's whimsically exaggerated art humorously reflects the personality of this hero, whose windshield serves as bulging eyes and whose bumper becomes an enormous set of teeth....kids will eagerly return to the beginning of this hilarious homage to an unsung hero." Publishers Weekly

Synopsis:

The latest from Joelle Jolivet and Jean-Luc Fromental, the bestselling duo behind 365 Penguins, this book follows Rapido the messenger and hisand#160;van throughout the city as he delivers packages. Clever flaps on every page give him hints into peopleand#8217;s lives and clues as to what heand#8217;s delivering, and where. The objects that Rapido delivers are represented as symbols, which readers can decipher from the setting and the rhyme. To help with the clues, a packing list of all the objects in Rapidoand#8217;s truck is provided on the title page. Itand#8217;s an interactive treat that celebrates city life and transportation and that features the striking art that has made Jolivet an international sensation.

Synopsis:

This is Robomop, a hardworking robot who's good at his job, which is cleaning...well, yes, the public restroom. But it's not all mopping, slopping, rubbing, and scrubbing. Robomop also does a wicked honky-tonk dance to the window washer's radio, and he dreams of seeing the sun and sky. So when he's carried outside one day, Robomop believes his wish has come true at last. Has it? Well one thing is for certain: for this little robot, finding his place in the world means never giving up trying.
