About the Author

Lisa Jane Smith realized she wanted to be a writer sometime between kindergarten and first grade. Her first novel, The Night of the Solstice, was published the year she graduated from college. Many of her books are based on her own nightmares and those of her friends. She lives in the Bay area of Northern California with one dog, three cats, and about ten thousand books.

This book was good, but slightly confusing because I did not read the first book. However, I still really liked it. I sympathizes with Elena all throughout the book because she loved one of them but she needed the other one as well. This is an amazing book and everyone who liked Twilight should read it.

I gave this book a 3 because it was good, but it didn't blow me away. Yes, there were some pretty good scary parts and an interesting story line, but the writing seemed a little choppy at times and the author left out small details I would think we're important.
Other than that: good for a quick read. I was waiting for another book to come out and reading this kept me busy.
I did love the ending.

Other books I recommend: The Uglies series, the Twilight series (a must if you love vampire books), and the Golden Compass series.
