Like father,

like son

Intelligent, popular, handsome, and wealthy, sixteen-year-old Nick Andreas is pretty much perfect — on the outside, at least. What no one knows — not even his best friend — is the terror that Nick faces every time he is alone with his father. Then he and Caitlin fall in love, and Nick thinks his problems are over. Caitlin is the one person who he can confide in. But when things start to spiral out of control, Nick must face the fact that he's gotten more from his father than green eyes and money.

Synopsis:

To his friends, popular and handsome sixteen-year-old Nick Andreas has led a charmed life. But the guys in Nick's anger management class know differently. So does his ex-girlfriend Caitlin. Now it looks like the only person who doesn't realize how far from perfect Nick's life has become is Nick himself.

Synopsis:

Nick has never spoken of his father's violent temper, but when Nick meets Caitlin, everything changes. This critically acclaimed first novel offers an honest and fresh look into the mind of the abused--and abuser.

Breathing Underwater is an amazing book. It's one of my favorite books yet. The story tells about a young boy named Nick dealing with his anger problems. This is a very realistic book.In the book, Nick is sent to court due to the fact that he hit his girlfriend. There he is obligated to anger management classes where he learns a great life leason. The story switches back and forth from Nick's current life and his journal. I would highly recommend this book to teenagers.
