Publisher Comments:

When her father, Robert the Bruce, becomes King of Scotland, Marjorie Bruce becomes a princess. But Edward Longshanks, the ruthless King of England, has set his sights on Robert and his family. Marjorie is captured and imprisoned in a wooden cage in the center of a town square, exposed to wind, rain, the taunts of the townspeople, and the scorn of Longshanks himself. Marjorie knows that despite her suffering and pain, she is the daughter of noble Robert the Bruce&150and she will make her father, and her country, proud. For a true princess is a princess, whether in a castle or in a cage.

This book is good if your looking for a historically accurate novel. I didn't like it because it got really boring and i didn't like the ending. The book drags on in some part and in others it's action packed. It is good to read as a group in school because there is a lot words that are symbols, confusing parts to talk about and is a good discussion piece. i think it is really confusing because it goes back and forth between when the main character, Marjorie, is a free princess and in a cage. Still an okay book.

The book "Girl In A Cage" by James Yolen is an enlightening and fascinating book about a medieval girl who get captured and is placed in a cage for 21 days. I did not bring much liking to this book just because i rather read realistic fiction or fantasy. I would recommend this book for people who like to read about history and action. This book was a great book for book groups because if you are not well educated on the medieval times you may get confused and it is nice to talk about with your book group to get things figured out. -- Maisie W. This book girl in a cage I thought was not a good book at all. I would deffinantly not recomend it to people in the feature because I feel that you could be reading or doing more important things with your time. Personaly I would of like for this book to have more action as where it really had none. Also the author did not use much detail or description so the text wasn't as rich and indulgent. But this book is writen in a fairly good manner as to where it flips back and fourth from past to present.
