Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Bloodlust and dark forces are at work at the House of Night, and fledgling vampyre Zoey Redbirds adventures at the school take a mysterious turn.  Those who appear to be friends are turning out to be enemies.  And, oddly enough, sworn enemies are also turning into friends.  So begins the gripping third installment of this “highly addictive series” (Romantic Times), in which Zoeys mettle will be tested like never before.  Her best friend, Stevie Rae, is undead and struggling to maintain a grip on her humanity. Zoey doesnt have a clue how to help her, but she does know that anything she and Stevie Rae discover must be kept secret from everyone else at the House of Night, where trust has become a rare commodity.  Speaking of rare, Zoey finds herself in the very unexpected and rare position of having three boyfriends. Mix a little bloodlust into the equation and the situation has the potential to spell social disaster.  Just when it seems things couldnt get any tougher, vampyres start turning up dead. Really dead. But, as Zoey and her friends find out, things are not always what they seem…

Review:

Praise for The House of Night:

“The Cast and Cast team is back and stirring up deep trouble in their beguiling supernatural world….The issues faced by these teens are not child's play, and the stakes are life and death.”

Romantic Times (4 ½ stars) on Betrayed

“Cast reeled me in from paragraph one. I…devoured it in one sitting.”

–MaryJanice Davidson, New York Times bestselling author of the Undead series on Marked

“Marked is one of the best coming of age stories to come out of Oklahoma since S. E. Hintons The Outsiders. It teaches about the beauty of being a social outcast, friendship, and finding your own inner spirituality.”

The Beltane Papers

It was good. I read it very fast.
I enjoyed the first two books better, but I am looking forward to the 4th book this fall. Just a note: I think this book may have parts that might be a little too "grown up" for kids maybe under 14.

I do recommend the series.
Others I recommend: Uglies series, Twilight series (another Vamp series that is really good), Harry Potter, and the Blue Bloods series.
