While Jennifer Crusie and the Bob Mayer duo are a couple of my favorite authors, this is by far the best one of her books. Hilariously funny...so funny I'd laugh on my train ride to work and cause folks to ask what I was reading. However, it's also got some great heartfelt moments too and the characters in the story have the most lovable quirks. It's can't-put-it-down kind of book.

I don't even like books that fall under the category of "chick-lit" but this was one of the best books I've read in a long time. It's an easy fun escapist jaunt. But fun doesn't even capture it. Laugh out loud on the bus funny covers it. Agnes is a cranky chef trying to cater a southern mob wedding [with more than the usual secrets], when someone tries to dognap her Rhett, and a hitman climbs in her bedroom window to protect her. Chaos runs rampant but instead of being confusing or disjointed you just keep laughing and turning the pages. This is what happens when a romance writer and a green beret write books together.
