Pets Go Pop! [With 3 1/2 Ft. Activity Poster] (Go Pop!)
Synopses & Reviews
Pets from around the planet come to three-dimensional life in this bold and innovative follow-up to TRUCKS GO POP!
Kids will love the wide range of hilarious animals that appear in unexpected scenarios, form a card-playing ape, and a jazz-loving lion, to a fearless pilot rhino-with a few more typical household pets sprinkled throughout! There's even a grand pop-up finale with all of the animals humorously brought together on their bus ride to school. The rollicking ending is bound to surprise and delight every animal and pet lover alike!
With sturdy but dramatic paper engineering and clever, vibrant illustrations by award-winning artist Bob Staake, PETS GO POP! will take kids on an unforgettable pet-popping romp!
"Some unexpected 'pets' act rambunctious in this high-energy pop-up featuring Staake's trademark cartoons. A 'hairy' pet (a doughy ape) plays a wild game of cards with blue and green children (the cards fly across the room in a pop-up arc); meanwhile, a 'toothy' alligator shows off his best assets as a 'cool' lion (dressed like a beatnik) plays with his drumsticks. The madness concludes with the pets catching a ride on a big, 3-D yellow bus: 'Now It's Time for School, Pets!' The goofy incongruity will win over young readers. A large zoo poster is included. Ages 4 — 8. Whether a sequel or well along in an established series, these titles should keep readers tuned in." Publishers Weekly (Copyright Reed Business Information, Inc.)
