Flawed Dogs: The Year-End Leftovers at the Piddleton

by Berkeley Breathed

Flawed Dogs: The Year-End Leftovers at the Piddleton Cover

Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Flawed Dogs is the annual publication of the Piddleton "Last Chance" Dog Pound, in the small town of Piddleton, promoting in catalogue form the country's most unadoptable dogs that routinely end up in their care... as the worst criminals used to get sent to Alcatraz. In this case, the most desperately flawed and imperfect dogs are sent to Heidy Streudlberg, a mysterious Austrian lady, once the lead Judge in the Westminster Dog Show until she named a mixed-breed street mutt Grand Champion in 1973, leading to the riot that we all remember at Madison Square Garden. Since then, Heidy has been a vocal opponent of breeding for purity — and a friend to the mixed and impure dogs that languish and expire in dog pounds around the country. With the Piddleton Poetry Club providing the color commentary on each of the wildly imperfect dogs, the author's contribution has been to illustrate their former lives with their original, dissatisfied owners.

Synopsis:

Pulitzer Prize-winning Berkeley Breathed offers his sixth annual publication of the fictional "Last Chance" Dog Pound in Piddleton, Vermont. The cartoons feature the world's most unadoptable dogs, as well as their original, dissatisfied owners.

Synopsis:

From the Pulitzer Prize-winning creator of "Bloom County" comes the annual catalog of the fictional "Last Chance" Dog Pound, riotously depicting imperfect dogs that are available for adoption. Full color.
