Publisher Comments:

Lestat. The vampire hero of Anne Rice’s enthralling novel is a creature of the darkest and richest imagination. Once an aristocrat in the heady days of pre-revolutionary France, now a rock star in the demonic, shimmering 1980s, he rushes through the centuries in search of others like him, seeking answers to the mystery of his eternal, terrifying exsitence. His is a mesmerizing story—passionate, complex, and thrilling.

The Vampire Chronicles continue in Prince Lestat. Look for a special preview in the back of the book.

Praise for The Vampire Lestat

“Fiercely ambitious, nothing less than a complete unnatural history of vampires.”—The Village Voice

“Brilliant . . . its undead characters are utterly alive.”—The New York Times Book Review

Very well could be considered a mondern-day classic. Anne Rice has a gift with words which allows you to immerse yourself in the characters and the world they inhabit. Even though the book is set in the 1980's, re-reading this recently I found that it had aged very well. The Vampire Lestat is a continuation of the character we first met in Interview with a Vampire, only focusing more on the troublesome and sexy antics of the rebellious vampire who seems intent on creating as much mayhem as possible. If you are a fan of more recent vampire tales you owe it to yourself to give this a read. It's witty, sexy, and charming in a way that the original Dracula stories weren't, but still holds to the core of the vampire mythos.
