A far cry from Danielle Steel's usual books, "A Gift of Hope," is a heartrending account of Steel's attempt to help the homeless. She does this following the death of her son, Nick, and it is indeed a worthwhile effort. Many of us have ideas about the homeless ranging from "they are dirty and lazy" to "they are violent." Steel's account goes a long way in dispelling these myths. Her line, "Need is acute in the streets; greed is rare," sums it up nicely.
