Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword and Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce — and goes out of his way to make that very clear — she can't let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

Dangerously exciting and darkly romantic, Fallen is a page turning thriller and the ultimate love story.

Review:

“Sexy and fascinating and scary…I loved love loved it!” P.C. Cast, New York Times bestselling author of the House of Night Series

Synopsis:

Luce is a new student at Sword and Cross, an unwelcoming boarding/reform school in Savannah, Georgia. Luce's boyfriend died under suspicious circumstances, and now she carries the guilt over his death with her as she navigates the unfriendly halls at Sword and Cross.

Synopsis:

A transcendent novel about a demon girl's search for love, from the New York Times bestselling author of The Replacement

Everything burns in Pandemonium, a city in Hell made of chrome and steel, where there is no future and life is an expanse of frozen time. That's where Daphne--the daughter of Lilith and Lucifer--waits, wondering what lies in store for her. Will she become a soulless demon like her sisters? Or follow in the footsteps of her brother Obie, whose life is devoted to saving lost souls on Earth? But when Obie saves a troubled boy named Truman from the brink of death and then goes missing, Daphne is catapulted on a mission to Earth, with Truman as her guide. “Fallen” written by Lauren Kate is about a young girl named Luce, who has bigger problems then deciding on what to wear on her first day of school. Unfortunately, her first day of school happens to be at the Sword & Cross, a reform school, where everything is bleak and depressing. That is, everything except Daniel, who Luce is immediately drawn to by some force bigger then attraction. Daniel…who makes it painfully obvious that he has no interest in Luce whatsoever. Unable to accept Daniel’s disinterest, Luce becomes emerged in her desire to find out more about this mysterious boy and awakens more details then she ever bargained for.

Lauren Kate brings something new and dangerously exciting to the table. “Fallen” is a gripping page turner that will engulf you before you can finish the first chapter. Lauren Kate has opened up a unique world that will quickly enrapture readers.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys YA fiction, especially so if you enjoy paranormal reads. “Fallen” is a thriller with a forbidden romance. It’s dangerous, dark and gothic.

Laruen Kate has introduced something just as interesting as Vampires and Werewolves, something that quite possibly will rival their popularity. “Fallen” is a tantalizing, addictive book that you will want to pick up. I was so caught up in the storyline that I read this one in a day. Lauren Kate’s writing is solid and I venture a guess that this is only the beginning of a very long and successful writing career. I’m looking forward to following along and delving into each work that she presents. Next up, “Torment”. I’m anxious to crack this open and let it captivate me completely.
