Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

"America's favorite writer" (The New Yorker) begins an all-new trilogy-inspired by the inn she owns and the town she loves.

The historic hotel in BoonsBoro, Maryland, has endured war and peace, changing hands, even rumored hauntings. Now it's getting a major facelift from the Montgomery brothers and their eccentric mother. As the architect of the family, Beckett's social life consists mostly of talking shop over pizza and beer. But there's another project he's got his eye on: the girl he's been waiting to kiss since he was fifteen...

Review:

"Perennial bestseller Roberts draws extensively on her experiences of renovating and operating Inn BoonsBoro for this trilogy launch not so much set in as advertising the bed-and-breakfast and its adorable neighboring town. Architect Beckett Montgomery has had a crush on Clare Brewster since high school, and sparks finally fly between them when Clare gets involved in the work of restoring the historic Maryland hotel. The widowed Clare has a bookstore to run and three small boys to take care of, but Beckett reminds her how to lean on others for help and fall in love again. Roberts paints a charming picture of smalltown life with likable characters, but supernatural thriller elements feel out of place in the bucolic contemporary setting, and too much detail about the nuts and bolts of the inn's restoration slows down the story." Synopsis:

First in the all-new Cousins Oand#8217;Dwyer Trilogy

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts comes a trilogy about the land weand#8217;re drawn to, the family we learn to cherish, and the people we long to loveand#133;

With indifferent parents, Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance. From her maternal grandmother, she learned where to find both: a land of lush forests, dazzling lakes, and centuries-old legends.

Ireland.

County Mayo, to be exact. Where her ancestorsand#8217; blood and magic have flowed through generationsand#151;and where her destiny awaits.

Iona arrives in Ireland with nothing but her Nanand#8217;s directions, an unfailingly optimistic attitude, and an innate talent with horses. Not far from the luxurious castle where she is spending a week, she finds her cousins, Branna and Connor Oand#8217;Dwyer. And since family is family, they invite her into their home and their lives.

When Iona lands a job at the local stables, she meets the owner, Boyle McGrath. Cowboy, pirate, wild tribal horsemen, heand#8217;s three of her biggest fantasy weaknesses all in one big, bold package.

Iona realizes that here she can make a home for herselfand#151;and live her life as she wants, even if that means falling head over heels for Boyle. But nothing is as it seems. An ancient evil has wound its way around Ionaand#8217;s family tree and must be defeated. Family and friends will fight with each other and for each other to keep the promise of hopeand#151;and loveand#151;aliveand#133;
