Perfect. I did not think I would like this book, and it became my obsession. This book is compelling, smart, and presents an intuitive and very real picture of a friendship. If you feel like you have had profound friendships, this book may affect you in a similar way.

I read this book onced every couple of years, and I'm always enthralled. Between well-developed characters, an incredible wealth of cultural geography, and an engaging plot, it's an amazing read.

I really enjoyed this book because not only was it interesting and historical; you could learn from it. I enjoy all books written by Chaim Potok.
