Publisher Comments:

The first book from one of the most popular comedians of the twenty-first century

There are many sides to the comedic genius of Jeff Dunham, who has risen in recent years to become a genuine entertainment phenomenon, having sold more than four million DVDs and who performs sold-out shows across the world. It's all because Jeff Dunham is not just one of the funniest humans on the planet but the ringleader of a cast of comedic characters like Walter the grumpy retiree; the beer-swilling, NASCAR loving and resolutely redneck Bubba J; the furry and manic Peanut; Jose Jalapeno, the spicy pepper from south of the border; and the bumbling skeletal Achmed the Dead Terrorist. There is no wonder why Time Magazine calls him the most popular stand-up comedian in the U.S.

He has rocketed into the pantheon of top comedians thanks to a dynamic combination of humane warmth, a keen sense of the humor to be found in everyday life, a sharp wit, and a cutting- edge sensibility. Political correctness is not in his-or his characters'- vocabulary, and millions of fans love him for it.

All by My Selves is Jeff's story, a comedic memoir that takes us behind the curtain to explain how he turned a tired, vaudevillian art form into something truly modern and hip. Not only will Jeff show how he developed his characters and how his act has evolved, but he'll also share details of his life as a working comedian and family man on the road. Best of all, Jeff's story will be vetted by his characters-they'll tell the real story, all the hilarious details Jeff himself is too modest to include.

Synopsis:

Dunham is the straight man to some of the funniest partners in show business. "All by My Selves" is the story of one pretty ordinary guy, one interesting hobby, one very understanding set of parents, and a long and winding road to becoming America's favorite comedian.

About the Author

Jeff Dunham is a comedian and ventriloquist whose record-breaking specials on Comedy Central launched a global phenomenon of sold-out live concerts, DVD sales and consumer products. A frequent guest on The Tonight Show and Late Show with David Letterman, he remains the only person to ever win the prestigious Ventriloquist of the Year award twice. In 2009, he was named the top grossing live comedy act in the world by Pollster, and Time Magazine called him the most popular comedian in the United States. In 1980, his high school chose him as Most Likely to Succeed, but he's pretty sure that playing with dolls doesn't really count. Dunham regularly plays to arena- sized crowds in North America, Europe and Australia. He has three beautiful daughters and lives in Los Angeles.
