Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Baylor provides ten rules for finding a rock. "Not just any rock, Baylor is careful to note, but 'a special rock that you find yourself and keep as long as you can--maybe forever.' . . . As fresh as Baylor's concept are Parnall's striking illustrations."--"School Library Journal," starred review.

Synopsis:

Everybody needs a rock — at least that's the way this particular rock hound feels about it in presenting her own highly individualistic rules for finding just the right rock for you.

This book does a perfect job of personifying rocks. The reader becomes one with the rock and actually goes through the changes that rocks go through.
