About the Author

Laura Numeroff had her first children's book published at the same time that she graduated from college. She is well known as the author of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. Her other books include What Mommies do Best/What Daddies Do Best, Sometimes I Wonder if Poodles Like Noodles, and Why a Disquise? She lives in Los Angeles, California.

Laura Numeroff's own grandmother lived downstairs and was a built-in baby-sitter. Laura remembers dancing for her grandmother while they watched The Lawrence Welk Show together.
