The author has a true appreciation for nature. While others might call the desert a place of solitude, the author would say that the desert is alive and even the rocks have a story to share, if we are willing to listen. My five year old isn't quite able to comprehend this yet, but yet I see a spark of understanding in her eyes. Perhaps if I can learn to listen "the other way", I might learn more of what my own daughter is teaching me.

This book is written from the perspective that life is something that flows all around us, and is we are astute enough we can learn to not only see but hear the beauty of creation.
