Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

One of the great gardening writers of our time opens up her own personal notebooks to fans. With revealing honesty, Beth Chatto shares her gardening successes (and occasional failures), and describes what it takes to maintain her unique and flourishing garden. Written from notes she's made over the years, this engaging, often surprising book covers the entire range of gardening topics in a style that's both literally and figuratively down to earth.

Synopsis:

Written from the notes that the author kept regularly, this book offers help on designing, planting and grouping. Beth Chatto describes methods of propagation, shows how plants can be helped to maturity, and gives advice on managing a garden and its plants and on performing day-to-day tasks.

Synopsis:

A month-by-month account, drawn from the author's diaries and notes, that reveals the rhythms of life at a working nursery. This engaging book is full of Chatto's keen observations on her plants and her nursery, but it also tells of chores and travels, meals with friends, the bustle and excitement of the Chelsea Flower Show---all joys of a rich and fulfilling life.

Synopsis:

New, revised edition.
