Witi Ihimaera's novels include the award-winning The Matriarch and its sequel, The Dream Swimmer. He is a lecturer in the English Department at the University of Auckland.

I stayed up well past midnight to finish this and immediately got online to write Ihimaera thanking him for an exceptional story. I can't recommend it and his other books enough.
