The Kids' Book of Questions

The Kids' Book of Questions Cover

Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

Now more than ever, parents are told how important it is to talk meaningfully to their kids. This is the book that makes it happen. A revised and expanded second edition, The Kids' Book of Questions, with 634,000 copies in print, makes it easy to ask hard questions and fun to answer them. Questions to challenge, questions to provoke. Questions to entertain and expand young minds. Questions about right or wrong, about fears and hopes, ethics, religious beliefs, about why parents act the way they do--even about ruling the world.

Updated to include questions on subjects that have arisen since the book's original publication in 1988--from the internet to issues like school violence and terrorism--the book is a sure way to prod young people into discovering who they really are and what they really believe. There are inquiries into values: "If you knew you wouldn't get caught, would you cheat on a test by copying someone else's answers?" Intriguing fantasies: "If you could email any famous person and know they'd read and answer your note, who would you write to and what would you say?" Philosophical queries: "Have you had any personal experiences that lead you to believe in God?" Provocative scenarios: "After being given a truth pill, what would you say if you were asked to describe your family?"

Kids, and parents, will be amazed to find how far one little question will lead.

Synopsis:

ASK AWAY!

Ask your best friend. Ask your teacher. Ask your mom and dad. Most of all, ask yourself. THE KIDS' BOOK OF QUESTIONS makes it easy to ask hard questions and fun to answer them: questions about right and wrong, about why parents act the way they do, about what you'd do for money, even about ruling the world.

Discover how you really feel, let people know what you think, or raise an issue you've always wanted to discuss-you'll be amazed to find how far one little question can lead you.

Before he began visiting schools and asking kids questions, Gregory Stock challenged older readers with the #1 bestselling THE BOOK OF QUESTIONS.

Synopsis:

From the author of the 1.9-million-copy bestseller The Book of Questions, here is a collection of questions specially designed to challenge, provoke, entertain, and expand young minds.

Going far beyond why the world is round and the sky is blue, these questions delve into fantasies (If you knew that by devoting every single Saturday to some talent, you could be the best in your school, what talent would you choose?), thorny dilemmas (If you agreed to sell your bike to a friend and then someone offered you more money, would you go back on the bargain?), provocative ideas (What things do you think your parents do just to set an example for you?), and embarrassing challenges (Would you kiss someone in front of your whole class for $100?).

The Kids' Book of Questions helps kids deal with fears and hopes, learn about trust, determine right from wrong, and confront divorce and other troubles at home, along with embarrassing or purely amusing challenges. Most of all, it teaches kids to make asking the right questions a part of their lives.
