About the Author

Trained as a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist at Yale University and George Washington University, Frank W. Putnam, MD, is a leading authority on dissociative disorders. He is Chief of Developmental Traumatology at the National Institute of Mental Health and directs clinical research on the effects of maltreatment, community violence, and other types of trauma across the lifespan. This is an excellent book and I am ordering a replacement for one I loaned out and never got back. Great for case managers/counselors in clinics who suddenly find themselves dealing with this diagnosis or anyone else. Having diagnosed/counseled people with DID and having lived with a multiple myself, I can say this is a great resource.
