Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

This book treats smoking as a real addiction and not just a bad habit. It teaches smokers who want to quit how to work through their drug dependency step by step and equips them with an arsenal of self-defense skills to disarm their most intense cravings and begin to retrain their minds. Inspiring stories from nine ex-smokers tell how they struggled through withdrawal, learned to face new challenges, and coped with ordinary stress without smoking again.

Review:

"Since the publication of this revised edition of a 1992 title, coauthor Allison has established herself, through seminars and media exposure, as one of the nation's leading stop-smoking gurus. Here she updates her text with recent success stories and with newly available information regarding the addictive power of tobacco." Booklist

I used Patricia Alison's Breathe Free smoking cessasion program way back in 1990 and am happy to report that I have been "unhooked" ever since. Happy to find this book, sorry that the Breathe Free program has ended. This method stopping smoking is for the thinking person. If you can think of just one reason you'd like to quit, this method can help you learn to talk back to the "junkie" inside....

Thanks to the authors! Good luck to those who use this method...
