Allison Brennan

Lucy Kincaid returns—as a killers obsession.

IN THE GAME OF CRIME

A new trainee at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Lucy Kincaid has already seen more than her share of murder and mayhem. Still reeling from the sex-crime case that sealed her reputation, shes found a true friend and mentor in Agent Tony Presidio. No matter what goes down at the Bureau, Tonys got her back—until hes called to New York to help investigate the murder of a reporter with ties to Lucy.

NEVER PLAY THE VICTIM

But the reporter may not be the first victim of a patient killer with a penchant for revenge, and shes definitely not the last. Connections between closed cases, a missing person, and Tony himself lead Lucy to fear for those she cares for most. When the FBI is rocked by the death of one of their own, Lucy seeks the help of her boyfriend, private investigator Sean Rogan, to help put together the puzzle—and puts her career in jeopardy. But the harder she pushes for answers, the clearer the truth becomes: Theres a killer inside Quantico. Watching her every move. Waiting to kill again…

Allison Brennan has become my absolute FAVORITE author! All of her books have everything I look for: Mystery, murder, suspense, gore, romance, sex, plots, twists, EVERYTHING! I love that most of her books use characters within the same family, or friends/colleagues/secondary characters - they somehow all tie in together. Each and every character has their own personality and she makes them very believable and relatable for the most part, plus the dialogue is great. Most books have awful, forced dialogue, but Ms. Brennan makes the conversations between characters realistic and natural. The only thing I don't like is that she chose Lucy Kincaid as the main character for several of her books; she's based an entire series on Lucy Kincaid, and while Lucy is a very intelligent and skilled woman, she seems too fragile and almost child-like most of the time, which makes some of the sex scenes (which is admittedly one my favorite parts LOL) a bit awkward to imagine. HOWEVER - her stories are wonderful, the endings are almost always satisfying, and the journey is thrilling. I own each and every one of her books and have read them all twice. Can't wait to see what else she has in store with her future books!!
