Having read California Fire and Life and The Winter of Frankie Machine by Don Winslow, I bought two of his books, The Winter for my Aunt Betty for Christmas, and The Power of the Dog for me to read. My brother came over and asked to borrow the Power. Two weeks later, I asked him if he was done with it. He said yes, and I asked how it was. He said, and I quote, "It was very, very, very pornographic, and if it had not been so well written, I wouldn't have finished it!"
