About the Author

Sarah Rees Brennan was born and raised in Ireland by the sea, where her teachers valiantly tried to make her fluent in Irish (she wants you to know it’s not called Gaelic), but she chose to read books under her desk in class instead. After living briefly in New York and doing a creative writing MA and library work in Surrey, England, she has returned to Dublin, Ireland, to write. Her Irish is still woeful, but she feels the books under the desk were worth it. Visit her website at sarahreesbrennan.com.

This was the book I was most excited about in 2010, and I was not disappointed. I read the book as slowly as possible because I didn't want it to end so soon!

The Demon's Lexicon is still my favourite so far, but I'm biased because I love Nick =) I enjoyed seeing Jamie, Alan, Nick and the other characters through Mae's eyes though.

I don't particularly identify with Mae, but I find her character believable and human. Sarah Rees Brennan's characters are likeable as always; I even start sympathizing with one of the villains (whereas I was "Die, minion, die!" in the first book).

If you haven't read the extra snippets in Sarah's livejournal, do so (some of them do spoil for Book One/Two/etc., so read the spoiler warnings): sarahtales [DOT] livejournal.com

I simply adored this book. The point of view is tight, the emotional life of the character is vividly expressed AND there is plenty of excitement, humor, sexual tension, and of course demons and magic and all that. Love love love.

I enjoyed this book. It is the second novel in the trilogy. This was a very good sequel to it's predecessor. Amazing book!
The author didn't waste time retelling what happened in the previous book. She adds one or two sentences to sum it up.
