This is a wonderful resource book for those interested in Mexican-era rancho lifestyle of the American West. Although geared primarily to a younger audience, and focusing on New Mexico history, there is a lot of information that can be utilized for California history as well. The illustrations of original artwork and artifacts is detail-oriented and provides additional valuable information for the study of material culture.
