Worlds' End is the eighth volume in the story of The Sandman. Caught in the vortex of a reality storm, wayfarers from throughout time, myth, and the imagination converge on a mysterious inn. In the tradition of Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales, as the travellers all wait out the tempest that rages around them, they share stories of the places they've been, the things they've seen...and those that they've dreamed.
Review:
"Worlds' End demonstrates that there is much more to the modern comic than costumed superheroes. In these pages you will find real emotion, stunning artwork...and, most important of all, spellbinding stories....It's one of the most richly rewarding experiences the graphic novel has to offer." Synopsis:
Stephen King's introduction sets the stage for a series of tales with a haunting geometry — some angular, some parallel, some concentric. An eerie mirror of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, this collection tells of a group of travelers from throughout time, myth and dream, who converge at a mysterious inn to seek refuge from a "reality storm."

A group of travelers are brought to the Inn of World's End due to circumstances they don't understand. A terrible storm prevents them from leaving, so they pass the time telling stories. There's some memorable tales here, my favorite being the story of a city's dream and what may happen when it awakes.
