Publisher Comments:

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is an extremely debilitating anxiety disorder that can occur after exposure to a terrifying event or ordeal in which grave physical harm occurred or was threatened. Often individuals with PTSD repeatedly re-experience the ordeal in the form of flashback episodes, recurring memories, nightmares, or frightening thoughts. PTSD symptoms include emotional numbness and sleep disturbances, poor concentration, depression, anxiety, and irritability or outbursts of anger. In this workbook, two psychologists gather together techniques and interventions used by PTSD experts from around the world to offer trauma survivors the most effective tools available to conquer their most distressing trauma-related symptoms. If youive suffered a traumatic event, use The PTSD Workbook to determine the type of trauma you experienced, identify your symptoms, and learn the most effective techniques and interventions you can use to overcome them.

I am grateful for the thoughtful, helpful, supportive structure of this post traumatic stress disorder (ptsd) workbook. Working through it is imparting skills I've heard mentioned or described, never understanding what was meant. This book goes a long way toward helping one navigate past (unfinished) trauma. I'm recommending it to friends, not least for the compassionate way it approaches ingrained fear of facing old trauma.
