Synopses & Reviews

Synopsis:

A world-renowned authority on the history, uses, and power of dreaming, Robert Moss guides neophyte and experienced adventurers alike to open their own dreamgates. Through these gates await otherwise inaccessible realms of reality as well as soul remembering — the “recovering of knowledge that belonged to us before we came into this life experience.” Exercises, meditations, and the mesmerizing tales of fellow dream travelers outline Mosss Active Dreaming technique, a kind of shamanic soul-flight that offers “frequent flyers” a passport between worlds. In this world beyond physical reality, Moss points to wellsprings of healing, creativity, and insight. As readers move into these different ways of seeing and knowing, they may also communicate with spiritual guides and departed loved ones in ways that transform their everyday lives.

Ever since I was a child my dreams have been very vivid and I have kept a dream journal for years. I still remember dreams from when I was a child. Sometimes I would feel like I was in another world having wonderful adventures or sometimes watching aspects of myself intercting with people and animals. I did not know how right I was until I read this book. Many times I would read something in the book and think, so that is what such and such dream was all about! Or, that was the purpose of that dream. Or, so that was why I had that dream. And, yes, some were and are shamanic dreams, soul recovery dreams, psychologically and physically helpful dreams, etc. If you think you don't dream, think again. You just need to actively seek your dreams and sometimes go back into the dream to seek an answer. Journaling whatever you can remember is helpful but so is reading this book so you have some idea of application. Robert Moss is a good author with good suggestions for full participation in your dreams and helpful understanding. I highly recommend this book to those who seek to understand.

I have always been interested in dreams and even remember some from when I was a child. For years I have journaled my dreams which can be pretty wild at times. Having had some spontaneous precognitive, shamanic and creative experiences, and some I have actively sought, I recently felt compelled to read Dreamgates by Robert Moss. Although I should not have been with all I have experienced, I was taken aback by this book which described so many key points of my dream experiences. I was thrilled to find simple exercises to heighten my control of my dreaming experience and to even take me to where I wanted to go. This book is an easy read and is a gem of a book for the beginner and experienced person alike who want to enhance their skills and travel/journey to interesting places and make worthwhile and helpful contacts. My next read is Active Dreaming by Mr. Moss. I think you will find his writings a helpful resource.

In this second edition, Robert Moss’ active dreaming technique allows practitioners to go beyond the boundaries of their physical bodies to other realms. Through the dreamgates lie these otherwise inaccessible worlds. Exercises and meditations are included so readers can learn how to become active dreamers, exploring the higher self and discovering untapped potential in journeys of self-discovery. The technique can also bring energy and healing into everyday life. Lest you think that it takes something special to achieve these results, the book includes several stories of Moss’ students on how they were able to access other worlds through the active dreaming process. Along the way they were accompanied by guides and guardians, encountering departed loved ones and wise interdimensional beings. Dreams are not just part of sleep. This book can help readers access other realms by utilizing active dreaming for guidance, healing and creativity.
