Covering advanced topics such as story composition, coloring, and file formatting, Mastering Comics is a vital companion to the introductory content of the first volume.

This "definitive course in comics narrative" lives up to its claim. If I were going to look for a definitive place to research cartooning as a career or as a serious hobby, Mastering Comics would be a perfect starting place. There is so much in this book to talk about, it can’t be covered in a review, but must be experienced from reading through the examples and working through the exercises. After reading this textbook it made me want to get into starting a comic. I enjoyed going through Mastering Comics so much that I forgot I was reading a textbook.

To tell you the truth I haven't order this book yet but I'm already knees deep in the first edition Drawing words Writing pictures. I've been sketching for years an always wanted to do comics,I never knew how much works goes into creating one. The vision is clear, now I see fully how many countless hours of practice needs to go into it all and its like a new door has just been opened. This recent investment in my-self has paid off, never would of thought when I purchased this book it'd be filled with information that goes be on the scope of so many other books. Their assignments in the book that are a treasure and fun to do,oh!if I hadn't said so already Drawing words writing pictures goes perfectly with scott McCloud's Making comics.I didnt rate because haven't read Master comics yet (by Jessica Albel) but i will be and for any one else I truly from the top of my heart recommend these books. Jessica & Matt I am very thankful for you guys hard work, keep it up! I rate your first book a 5 star I am sure this one will be nothing short of that.
