As a mixed media artist, I'm often a bit on the disappointed side when new art books come out as they often possess extremely basic techniques and mediocre art. This is NOT one of those books. The art is absolutely gorgeous and looks as if it requires great skill and creativity to create the pieces while still actually being easy to follow, and the techniques are fun and unique while being explained in a manner that they could be re-purposed to fit your personal artistic needs. I have actually already purchased three copies of this book -- one for myself and two for friends. As a side note, Powell's has the wrong cover displayed and the author's name is misspelled here -- it's really by KERIN GALE, not Kevin.
