The Fractional Calculus: Theory and Applications of Differentiation and Integration to Arbitrary Order Cover

Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

The product of a collaboration between a mathematician and a chemist, this text is geared toward advanced undergraduates and graduate students. Not only does it explain the theory underlying the properties of the generalized operator, but it also illustrates the wide variety of fields to which these ideas may be applied. Topics include integer order, simple and complex functions, semiderivatives and semiintegrals, and transcendental functions. The text concludes with overviews of applications in the classical calculus and diffusion problems. 1974 ed.

As a introduction to Fractional Calculus ,this book has matched defination of Riemann-Liouville fractional integration with fractional integration concept and generalised the idea of fractional calculus in the same scale through numarical analysis. As reality(Nature) does not always appears to us as integer(as totality) and as every system appears to us as incomplete system(due to inherent randomness nature of reality). so, this situation makes us to think in the form of fraction. In this situation the concept of Fractional Calculus plays a ,obviously, dominant role to study creation of Nature.
In my opinion, this calculus will enreach existing domains of research and emarging field of Nano-technology.In the Nano-scale, concept of Fractional Calculus match very well. So, the book "The Fractional Calculus: Theory...... Arbitrary Order"by K.B. Oldham plays vital role in Modern science and Technology.
