About the Author

Des Pawson has studied knots and rope work since he was seven. For more than 25 years he has run a rope working business and teaches and displays his skills at exhibitions, boat shows, and museums in the United States and Europe. He is a frequent contributor to magazines and newspapers, and is a cofounder of the International Guild of Knot Tyers.

Great portable book on knots. Covers all major knot groups with emphasis on practicality and usefulness. I recommend this book for anyone who needs help learning knots or a refresher to remember a step or two. Color photos are excellent. I particularly like the section on whippings as it gives more than the standard everyday whipping including two sailmaker's whippings that require a sewing palm. Thanks to the author for the good job putting this text together.
