Living Small: The Life of Small Houses

Living Small is a graphic narrative written in the comic style that mixes layers of visual information with interactive 3D building information models (BIM) of 20 houses. The small houses include early shelters, settler cabins, Cracker houses, farmhouses, bandboxes, shotguns, bungalows, and very tiny houses.

Each house has a lesson to teach on how to live simply and purposefully in an efficient and multifunctional space. The book’s CD includes the SketchUp Viewer, the 20 BIM construction information models, and a detailed help menu that readers can use to orbit, enter, and visualize each of the small houses.

Students, homeowners, and building professionals will recognize the evolution of small houses into a consumer oriented housing market and understand the purposeful nature of small, simple and sustainable shelter in an ever changing world.
