Expert and teacher Kavasch also illustrates her text, which includes information on natural food preparation, soups, vegetables (including a botanical chart), native ferns, lichens and mosses, wild mushrooms and meats, saltwater and freshwater fish, breads, beverages, smoking mixtures and even chewing gum. She provides the spiritual contexts of the ways the foods are gathered, prepared, and served, and also provides a botanical as well as a general index. She also includes a very helpful set of menus for special occasions and everyday feasting.
