Publisher Comments:

Explore America's beloved wine country in this virtual tour of Northern California's distinctive vinyards and winemaking facilities. Breathtaking photography by acclaimed regional photographer Daniel D'Agostini sheds new light on the vintner's way of life amid the natural beauty of Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, and the Sierra Foothills. The art of grape-growing and the pleasures of winemaking in this lush countryside are extolled in excertps from the writings of wine authorities, quotes from vintners, and passages from literature. Longtime vintner Molly Chppelet's introduction discusses the historic roots of Northern California's winde regions, as well as the various methods of growing grapes to create etraordinary vintages. A list of recommended vineyards to visit, along with an appendix--complete with visitor information--of special inns and restaurants both on and off the beaten path, concludes this perfect gift for the wine lover.
