The 10-chapter book features original illustrations by Portland artist Jennifer Winship-Mark depicting Junior League projects along with a narration of how the recipes in the chapter reflect the essence of Portland living. You'd be hard-pressed to find a woman in Portland without this local staple in her kitchen.

This cookbook is the most beautiful I have seen. I've owned it for over 15 years and always like to check it when I have an ingredient I'm looking to use. It has GREAT recipes which are not low-fat or low-calorie, but are wonderful for something special or just indulging in an experiment. My favorite recipes are the Blue Ribbon Carrot Cake, Brie Soup, Walla Walla Onion Casserole, Oregonata Pasta and in my pre-vegetarian days, Italian Sausage Soup and Mu Shu You Can Do. I love having this book on my cookbook shelf.
