Synopses & Reviews

Publisher Comments:

From its founding in pioneer times to the present day, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has been both mysterious and misunderstood-with some Protestant faiths not even recognizing the Mormons as Christians. This fascinating guide debunks the myths of Mormonism and reveals its history, faith, and culture.

Synopsis:

- Mormons now number approximately 11.4 million worldwide--with five million in the U.S. and Canada alone- This fast-growing faith was the subject of major Time and Newsweek features tied in with the Salt Lake City Olympics

Synopsis:

Includes bibliographical references (p. [291]-294) and index.

About the Author

Drew Williams converted to Mormonism while serving as a Navy journalist and has taught Latter-Day Saint doctrine and essential gospel principles for 17 years. He holds a BA in journalism and English from Brigham Young University and has been writing professionally for nearly 25 years.

With 2 Mormons making a bid for the President of the United States...Mormonism needs to be better understood by voters. This book presents a basic look at the religion: its beliefs and its foundation. A fair approach to understanding the religion (instead of all the negativism and inaccuracies so many "anti-Mormon" reporters and books are publishing).
