As the granddaughter of a librarian, I spent much of my childhood surrounded by literacy. There is no series I remember with more fondness than the Betsy series. Once I discovered Betsy and her adventures, I plowed through the entire series in a short time. I even re-read them years later just to re-capture some of the innocence of childhood.
This series is a must for all young children, especially little girls who are ready to move onto longer stories.
