I liked this book because it gives easy definitions, sample sentences and fun quotations for familiar words that you might use or might have used, but maybe you weren't completely sure of the definition, like "chronic," "mandate," "ubiquitious," "schadenfreude," and a few I never use: hegemony, nadir and profligate.

As the back of the book says, it's a handy reference guide and great starting point for ensuring that you know these words, can sound articulate, write killer papers and hold your own among your peers.

I recommend it for yourself or a high school student.
